Which brings us to our next question. What is the formula for determining the appropriate amount of calories in a day for a healthy active person?
I suppose there are a lot of factor that go into this question. Weight, goal of gaining or loosing weight, health factors, BMI, etc. I read an article that talks about if you are loosing weight you should not have more than a 400 calorie "deficit" per day.
I am interested in when does your body begin to break down fats. I read in an article that during long workouts after the sugar is burned through, the body will start to break down muscle, which can be counter productive. I'm curious when the body is optimally breaking down the fat. After workout? During workout, as sugar drops? Other?
